'Tis the season for giving gifts, making lists, and heading to holiday parties! Get in the mood and get your shopping done at this weekend's GRUMP Arts and Crafts Show. Join Nana and forty other vendors at the Artisphere in Arlington for a festive day of local goods and fabulous finds, including jewelry by Nana favorite Sarah Cecliia, bags and tees by Tina Seamonster, and beautiful handmade books by Moonlight Bindery. Seriously, it will be gift-buying perfection!

As for us, we'll be there with cozy and holiday-ready looks for gifting or keeping. Like the Model-fit dress ($150), which goes from practical to party depending on the accessories. Just add sparkly shoes and a bauble or two, and you'll be swigging egg nog under the mistletoe in no time! (If you're into those kinds of things, that is!)

The easy Funnel-neck top ($85), on the other hand, works equally well as a weekend staple or an office ensemble, and it makes a great gift for mothers, sisters, aunts, mothers-in-law, you name it. Who can resist super soft cotton and cheery polka dots!

We'll also be bringing this season's staples, so you can round out your winter wardrobe with wear-everywhere skirts like the Bias cut (below, $110) in warm wool or the oh-so-flattering Pencil-perfect ($110).

Or treat yourself (or your best friend!) to one of our classic dresses you can go anywhere in, like the Maker-mod (below, $130).

Come visit us at GRUMP and get your shopping taken care of in the best possible way! One lucky shopper will even win one of our best-selling tops. Get your Nana fix now, because we'll be going on hiatus for the rest of the winter months!

What: GRUMP Arts and Crafts Show
Where: Artisphere, 1101 Wilson Blvd, two blocks from the Rosslyn Metro
When: Saturday, December 7th, 11-5p

Get Ready for Meg on November 10th!

Meg is coming to town in only a few weeks, and we love her current collection so much, we can't decide which styles we're most excited to wear. Here are some of our top picks, just to whet your Meg appetite. But don't take our word for it, check out all the new looks on her website and let us know which ones you're dying for (then email Jackie at, so we can make sure we have your favorite in your size).

One of the many styles Meg does well without fail is the shapely sheath dress in bold solids. Whatever your body type, these dresses fit and flatter. (T-Dress pictured above; New V-Band dress below)

Then there are her separates, which combine the classic wear-everywhere look that Washingtonians adore and inject it with downtown NYC.

The result is office ready but with a funky flare. (Square T with Elastic Pant above; Rag Lean Sweater and Bird Print Skirt below)

We hope you're as psyched for Meg as we are! Here's everything you need to know about the trunk show. And don't forget to email if you see something you like on Meg's website!

Meg Trunk Show
Sunday, November 10th
1 - 5 pm
The Tasting Room at Cork Market (1805 14th St NW, upstairs)

Our Favorite Fall Fabric, Two Fresh Looks

One reason we love fall is it brings with it a new palette of neutrals. Deep burgundy instead of beige. Maroon over basic black. Wine and cordovan and even oxblood. Notice a theme? This season we're all about dark reds but with a lighthearted twist. Which is why we couldn't resist this cranberry cotton with pale polka dots.

The fabric lends casual chic to our Funnel Neck top ($85), here perfectly paired with the Bias Cut skirt (available in rust wool, $110). Just add our best-selling Obi Belt (we're sold out for now, but they'll be back online soon!), and you've got a look that's soft, easy, and totally carefree.

And when you love a fabric this much, you just have to have it in a dress. The Prime Waist ($130) has elastic at the waist and sleeves for a flattering silhouette with just a touch of nostalgia.

Add the Obi again (because you can always add an Obi) and head to work, out to dinner (preferably somewhere with pumpkin soup!), or home to curl up with a good book. That's the magic of this fabric: it's elegant and cozy!

Don't miss our Open Studio Evening on October 29th!

Mark your calendars, because Meg is coming to town on November 10th!

A Closer Look at Fall ‘13

For our Fall '13 shoot, we styled model Heather with undone hair, a bold lip, and basic booties, so her look was funky enough for an art opening but still low key enough for the office. We love the way the cranberry lip matches the cranberry dress.

Prime-waist dress in cranberry, $130

Unexpected blue tights paired with a rust-colored sheath and geometric necklace to continue the modern art house mood.

Maker-mod dress in rust wool, $130

Next we stuck with the funky accessories, but switched out the dress for this flatter-every-figure shape.

Model-fit dress, $150

For the skirt and top combos, we kept the styling simple, so getting dressed this fall can be thought-free but still fun.

Pleated-proper top in black, $130; Pencil-perfect skirt in grey fleur de lis, $110

Our three beautifully basic tops look great tucked or untucked and paired with either of our two classic skirts.

Bell-staple top in slate blue, $75; Pencil-perfect skirt in grey denim, $110

One of our favorite outfits of the season is our reimagined turtleneck paired with, well, everything!

Funnel-neck top in cranberry, $85; Bias-cut skirt in rust wool, $110

Our shoot was styled by Jackie, of course, modeled by the gorgeous Heather, and photographed by Kurt Powers Photography. The necklace is Lanyapi and the booties are Clarks.

In an Autumn Mood

The first chill is in the air, which means autumn is almost upon us, and we can't wait to cozy up in long sleeves, cable knits, and tights. To that end, Nana's Fall 2013 capsule collection captures the season's collegiate spirit but in a totally grown-up way.

Inspired by the simple elegance that is her trademark, Jackie took classic silhouettes and transformed them into fall-ready staples in deep shades like wine, rust, and navy. The nine resulting pieces are perfectly wearable and utterly chic.

The looks go up online soon, but to give you a taste of what to expect, here are some behind the scenes shots of our Fall '13 photoshoot with Kurt Powers Photography and modeled by longtime muse and shopgirl Heather.

As you can see, the new line is full of sweet shift dresses, boxy tops, and the easy comfort that makes fall so much fun!

We loved dressing Heather in every combination of our autumn pieces, paired with fun tights and chunky shoes, of course. She looked amazing in everything!

We'll let you know as soon as Nana's new line hits the website. These bolts of fall fabric are just waiting for your orders!

And don't miss our Fall '13 debut at Crafty Bastards on September 28th and 29th. Get your tickets today!
