With Memorial Day weekend right on our heels, it's time to offical kick off summer. Whether you're headed out of town for the long weekend or planing a mini stay-cation you'll need some appropriate outfits (think light weight and breatheable) to get you through this weekend and the rest of the summer. That's why we've decided to have a very special happy hour tonight from 5-7p where you can stock up on all the summer essencials.
We have lots of new dresses in from Many Belles Down perfect for DC's notoriously hot and humid summers. They look great with Eleanor Salazar's funky jewelry (made from pool balls!) And the Nana Line Skipper Skirt in green stripe just hit the racks. We've got lots of mark downs too, including our favorite Preloved tote, which is the perfect beach bag.
So come enjoy your first summery cocktail of the season and stock up on all your wardrobe needs. The first 10 customers at the happy hour will recieve a special goodie bag and everyone receives a free gift with purchase!
One of our Nana muses, Heather is helping put together Critical Exposure's 7th Annual Spring Exhibit. We'll be at the opening exhibit tomorrow supporting her. Come join us!
SEE CHANGE: Youth -> Cameras -> Action!
Support DC students, and join us at the opening reception of Critical Exposure's 7th Annual Spring Exhibit, "SEE CHANGE: Youth -> Cameras -> Action!"
Critical Exposure is a DC-based nonprofit that teaches low-income youth to use the power of photography and their own voices to create real change in their schools and communities.
The spring exhibit is the most important event of the year for CE students—it's the moment they realize they're artists and that people really care what they have to say. This is often the first time many of them have ever been to an art gallery, and it's amazing to watch them as they see hundreds of people look at their photos and read their stories.
When: Wednesday, May 23rd from 6 p.m.--8:30 p.m.
Where: The Hill Center, 921 Pennsylvania Ave. SE (1 block from the Eastern Market Metro)
Why: To see students' powerful photos and stories of issues impacting their lives.
To register: http://criticalexposurespringexhibit.eventbrite.com/
Are you an artist who designs clothing, handbags, accessories, or jewelry? At Nana we value things that are made creatively with a unique design perspective. That’s why it’s no surprise you’ll find one-of-a-kind artists and original designs in our shop. We are always on the hunt for new and cutting edge designers and know it can be a huge leap to start selling in a retail space. In order to assist start-up fashion designers and for our shop to stock the newest of ideas, we’ve developed our Emerging Designer Program.
Vendors who are accepted into our program will have their designs featured in our shop for 2 months and will receive 50% of the revenue from the sales of their designs. We will advertise your line with Facebook, Twitter, on our website, as well as to our press contacts and extensive email list. Select vendors will have a small meet and greet so that you can meet interested customers. Emerging Designers will be in charge of designing, funding and manufacturing of all of their own designs. Also, if your submissions are clothing, each piece must come in a full run of sizes.
Email us photos of at least 6 of your designs.
Send us a small bio about you and your background.
Name your line and explain your inspiration.
Submit designs and information to: firstname.lastname@example.org with “EMERGING DESIGNER” in the subject line.
